There are lots of beautiful buildings in Rossland, so I painted this one? I put it into the sketchbook in 2000 without making any note of where it was, but after looking at it for a few years I decided to finish it as I like the composition, or the laundry, or the dish . . . . As I recall, it was one of the downtown streets on the opposite side of town from the beautiful courthouse. Can anyone tell me where it is and anything about it?

Note from Kim Shannon (kimscritters): Your picture is of George Ferguson's house on Washington Street, at the corner of first Avenue. It's across the street from the Legion (up from the Bank of Montreal.)

Note from Louise Walters: I wanted to tell you about my historic B.C. building. It is the house in which I spent my teenage years. The address is 1781 Union Ave. in Rossland. The house was built in 1896 by Ross Thompson, the man who Rossland is named after. I lived in it from 1969 to 1977. My family did some restoration over those years as it had previously been turned into apartments. It has several stained glass windows and three elaborate wooden/tile fireplaces, many large windows and a turret on the roof. I went to Rossland to visit a few years ago and went to my old house. I knocked on the door, introduced myself and was given the grand tour by the then current owner. More extensive work on the house had been done by this time and it was furnished and decorated in a style similar to when it had been built.
